Oil Pulling 

It has been used for thousands of years to prevent gingivitis (gum-inflammation) and plaque, and also to reduce bad breath. In Ayurveda, oil pulling is not only used to whiten teeth, but it is also used to treat diabetes, asthma, acne, migraines and headaches.

How to Practice Oil Pulling

  1. Select an oil, like coconut oil, sesame oil, or vitamin E oil.
  2. Swoosh the oil around in your mouth for 5 to 20 minutes.
  3. Spit out the oil and brush your teeth.

There, now you have healthier gums and fresher breath all in a very little time.

The Science behind Oil Pulling

As you swish the oil in your mouth, the bacteria slowly get dissolves with the oil. Many studies have proven that it reduces the symptoms of gingivitis, plaque and bad breath as effectively than mouthwash like chlorhexidine. Just remember to throw away the oil after 5 minutes so that you are plaque and bacteria free.
