Be 80 and Have Heart Health of 25

80Latest research has broken the record! A Vicious and Dangerous Cycle 

Mitochondria as I mentioned earlier is a major source of superoxide in aging cells. That extra superoxide can attack the mitochondria itself, which produce more superoxide, thus giving a rise to a dangerous and vicious cycle.

Research has proven that antioxidant supplement can curtail this cycle and improve vascular function in patient with cardiovascular disease.

Cancer Demolisher Brussels Sprouts

Brussels SproutDid You Know…that Brussels sprouts contain a substance that causes cancer cells to self-destruct?

The idea of Brussels sprouts may not immediately set your taste buds tingling, but this vegetable’s health benefits are immense.  Brussels sprouts are rich in glucosinolates—a kind of anti-carcinogenic compound—than any other cruciferous vegetable.


Glucosimolates Fight Cancer

Glucosinolates are special phytonutrients that serve as the chemical source for a large number of cancer-protective substances.

Brussels sprouts stem contain four glucosinolates which are anti-canceric:

  1.         Glucobrassicin
  2.         Gluconasturtiian
  3.         Sinigrin
  4.         Glucoraphanin

Sinigrin, in particular, appears to cause cancer cells to self-destruct.

For the three-week study, researchers analyzed the effect of Brussels sprouts on two groups of healthy men.  One group ate 300 grams of Brussels sprouts each day, while the other group ate a diet devoid of all cruciferous vegetables.   There was 28% decrease in DNA damage in the group who took Brussels sprout daily.

“Fill the bottom of a steamer pan with two inches of water.  If Brussels sprouts are cut into quarters, steam for 6 minutes. Cooked sprouts are crisp, mild in sweetness and a bright, “green” in color. Add  a few black seeds in the dish as it is the potent cure for every disease.
